As the bass player for South Jackson, I play a supporting role for the melodies and work at creating a foundation for the rhythm. I love the challenge of trying to find the right space to take in a song and leave enough for the rest of the band. I’ve got HUGE respect for the other musicians in this group and I’m honored to be part of such a creative project. Jeff comes up with accessible but unconventional chord progressions.
Eyal always brings intense creativity. And Lauren is the most unique artist I’ve ever worked with she has almost a magical ability to make improvise profound ideas. My background as a bass player comes from years of guitar playing with occasional escapes into the world of the bass. I’ve always been drawn to the deep energy of the bass and admired many, mostly jazz fusion bass players: Jaco, Marcus, Victor, Stanley to name a few. I’ve been close friends with Jeff since 4th grade and Eyal has been a true brother to me for over 20 years. Lauren is one of those people that you feel like you’ve known the first day you meet. This band has been such a joy for us and I hope you can enjoy it to.
